Background
Le Chéile Camogie Club was founded in 2011 and was previously known as Toronto Camogie Club. It was the first camogie club in Toronto.
Le Chéile competes every year in the Toronto League and Championship, the USGAA Finals and the Canadian National Championships. The Club won their first Senior USGAA Camogie title in Philadelphia in 2012. Since 2012, Le Chéile have been very competitive at Senior level and have competed in 7 senior finals. In 2014, 2015 and 2018, Le Chéile also sent an Intermediate team to the competition, winning that division in both 2014 and 2018. In 2022 Le Chéile retained the Senior title for the first time in 10 years.
Le Chéile also travel to other tournaments and blitzs in both Canada and the USA throughout the summer.
In 2016 the club represented Canada in the GAA World Games in Dublin. The team reached the plate final, and had a hard fought game vs the Middle East for 3rd position in the competition.
Several girls from the Le Chéile team also featured on the 2019 World Games Panel, who reached the semi final stages in that competition.
Le Chéile are currently Toronto League & Championship winners.

Club Formation
The club came together when Leanne Fitzgerald and a group of girls were at a GAA tournament in the USA in early summer 2011. On their way back they were chatting about how great it would be to have a camogie team in Toronto. Leanne along with Nicola Arrigan and Caitriona Mulkerins worked together to form the club. The club started off in 2011 as a way to catch up with friends and meet new people in the city.
The first ever training session took place in High Park between a bunch of trees because they couldn’t find anywhere else that was free. There was about 12 girls and they didn't have any helmets, just a few hurls and sliotars. It's safe to say... Le Chéile has come along way in its 12 years of existence.
